Pwo people

The Pwo people(s) are a group of several cultures and ethnicities, speaking the related Pwo languages, who form the majority of the population of Linghsi in western Lestria. Pwo-speaking cultures have been identified in northern Linghsi as early as the second century CE, although it has been argued that the original influx was that of a confederacy of distinct tribes - reflected in later years in the wide cultural diversity of the Pwo and the loose and strongly tribalistic constitution of the various Linghsi empires.

In its original use, the term Pwo diminishes in significance from the early Chupang period in the early eleventh century; more modern usage - where the modern term means 'river mouth, shore', and by extension 'coastals' - arose only to differentiate locals and commoners from the Pey conquerors after the establishment of the Hierophany of the Dawn in the 17th century.
