The Bal-Laz (Agar: Pallas) is a common form of Outer Joriscian clothing similar to a kilt or skirt, worn by both sexes. A broad range of variations exist: traditionally a Bal-Laz consisted of a single flat piece of cloth wrapped around the legs and tied, but many modern designs are elasticated or use a tie. The Bal-Laz is particularly common during the summer and in warmer regions when it is too warm to wear the Shatny comfortably. In some countries, men regularly wear the Bal-Laz alone, whilst in others it is more commonly worn in conjunction with a Fatta.
