A hunter-privateer is an individual in some Vaestic countries who bears arms for use not directly connected to state-authorised purposes (i.e. 'hunting' traditionally), under the assumption they act ultimately in the imperial interest and with its permission. Hunter-privateer status is often distinguished from actually holding arms with a hunting permit, usually worded as some kind of imperial usufruct over hunting grounds.

Private gun ownership under this framework is legal and extensive in the Lutoborsk and Kiy. It should be distinguished from the massive militias and paramilitaries mokyklos and estates there maintain, in which case the formation has some form of nominal but direct state authorisation. In both countries, hunter-privateer clubs are hubs of local culture and violent political activity. The concept is viewed with distaste in southern Outer Joriscia, though there actual hunting permits are common.
