The Lethpol Covenant was a reconciliation treaty signed in 1735 between the representatives of Borovest II, the Legitimist claimant to the title of Emperor of the Vesnites, and Spytihnev II, the Restorationist claimant. The covenant was largely engineered by Vladimir Inevsky and provided for a complex settlement entailing the separation of the titles of Emperor of the Vesnites and Universal Prophet and the division of autonomous Marshalates along lines largely established de facto by the entrenchment of the two sides during the Crown Wars. While Borovest remained Universal Prophet, under the terms of the agreement he delegated the title of Emperor to Spytihnev; Inevsky was invested as Marshal and Plenipotentiary in the North.

The Lethpol Covenant triggered an immediate reaction in Great Pestul, where the Pièches purged Inevsky's supporters from the government and declared Inevsky deposed; it was also contested by the Graviate of Lacre under Kalodar II in the Lacrean Intervention, and Inevsky and Spytihnev were forced to fight the Covenant War in order to impose it. By 1752, however, military and diplomatic victory had secured broad recognition of the Lethpol settlement and in 1754 it was promulgated at the Majestic Peace, which brought an end to the Crown Wars. Since Borovest had died in the meantime, it was agreed that an independent Prophet would be installed at the Prysostaia. Zafuvniprourkah was duly elected and acclaimed less than two years later.

The Lethpol order is notable as the last period in which a single Emperor of the Vesnites was recognised as having universal jurisdiction across Vaestdom, although the actual meaning of this jurisdiction was much debated and produced a great deal of Vaestopolitical thought on the distinction between imperial and prophetic functions. Although unpopular with many conservatives, including those who rejected the separation of the offices altogether, it was generally celebrated for having ended the formal schism at the heart of Vaestism. It remained more or less in place until the Imperial War of 1771–74 led to the breakdown of Terophan's imperial suzerainty, and the Chotarian Restoration of 1778 formally instituted a new era of imperial pluralism.
