Meshrati is a coastal marshalate of Agamar on the southern coast of Outer Joriscia bordering Dekoral to the west and north and Lefdim to the east. Historically, the region was the easternmost extent of, first, Terophan and then, following the Malarat Affair, of Dekoral. Although the term Meshrati has a long history referring to various administrative divisions around the city of Meshrati, the modern marshalate was formed as recently as 1959, when it was created out of the south-eastern part of Dekoral and placed under Agamari authority as part of the wider settlement of the Congress of Kethpor. Culturally, the area falls into the diverse borderlands of Greater Dekoral and the Starroz Krai, with substantial populations of Agar, Rasheem, Lacreans and Lopts. The marshalate is governed by an Agamari Overseas Commission headed by the titular Marshal, Rīni Hakkarainen, appointed directly from Agamar. Dekoral continues to claim Meshrati as part of its territory.
