The Roriks Gulf

The Roriks Gulf is a large gulf (sometimes described as a marginal sea) of the Prothenian Ocean located in north-eastern Serania Major. It is bounded to the north-west by Felicia and to the south-east by the Tatuln Peninsula. The island of Bon-Matin lies along its hydrological boundary with the wider Prothenian.

The gulf takes its Ellish name from the Siursk sailor Valbjörn Rorik, who conducted the first extensive explorations of the area by a Messenian crew in 1669–70, and who died of complications following a burst appendix at a location (today unknown) on the bay’s eastern shore in Fabricad 1670. However, this is not universally accepted, and variant names are used by some other countries.
