Torīs Lorin (Gergote: ⰕⰑⰓⰋⰔ ⰎⰑⰓⰉⰐ; 29 Empery 1622 – 1 Sation 1697) was a Zemayan statesman and philosopher of the 17th century, a foundational influence on the early Radiance and especially the neocracy. His 1692 Pragmatics of Rulership is still widely read today, and it became the archetype for the pragma, a style of writing that came to dominate Vaestic political philosophy taking the form of a letter of advice written by a Scholar to a Standard-Bearer or a lower political leader. He was also an active participant in the statecraft of 17th-century Zemay and Outer Joriscia more broadly. An Adept, he served the Neritsovid court of Ratibor III from 1666 to 1671 before returning to Zemay and playing a pivotal role in securing the unification of most of the Zemayan statelets in the Graviate of Laukuna under Keumat I in the 1670s and 80s, inaugurating the Keumatian dynasty.
