In Siriash, transgression or regression (Liturgical Antissan: Ἁραταρ haratar) is the state or quality of Man being distanced from his Asmedon origins and essence. Transgression was first rendered upon humanity by the Sebanants in the Arayan (hence the Antissan word's original meaning as 'destruction, damage'), but can be perpetuated by humans themselves through behaviour fundamentally caused by a lack of enlightenment. Transgressions lead to Descension, leading to reincarnation on a lower level on the Divine Hierarchy, and typically a degeneration of the transgressive subject's current form as well. Enlightenment and other means prescribed by Siriash cleanse transgressions by simply reorienting a person towards Asmedonism.

First discussed in extensive detail in the Book of Transcendence, much of Sirian philosophy and ethical thought has surrounded the topic of transgression. Long-standing debates about the nature of transgression include examples such as Doron's quandary.
