Gulf of Joriscia

The Gulf of Joriscia is a body of water off the eastern coast of the continent from which it takes its name, and opens in the east into the Esperasian Ocean of which it is hydrologically a part. The Gulf was, historically, the proving ground of the navies of several Joriscian countries, and most notably those of Agamar, Zemay and Lacre, which were among those states which dominated trade between Joriscia and its territorial possessions in Serania Minor; and its waters contain, even today, some of the most heavily-travelled sea lanes in the world.

Eleven states and marshalates have coastlines on the Gulf of Joriscia. From north to south and travelling counterclockwise, they are: Cadasy, Sebagy, Zemay (Uzjuris), Doyotia, Zemay (proper), the Prysostaia, Littorea, Partia, Ephgil, Agamar (mainland and Lyuma) and, by extended definitions, Rania. Additionally, the island state of Aushria is surrounded entirely by the Gulf.
