Privateer Board

A Privateer Board is a body for the management of an estate drawn primarily from its own workers, 'privateering' in that it is presumed their autonomous appropriation of the imperial usufruct is ultimately in imperial interests (see also hunter-privateer). These cooperative, self-managing enterprises are very common in the Lutoborsk, where they emerged in the Catabolism.
