Lower Gaste (Savamese: Basse-Gaste) is a geographic area in Savam that roughly extends along the course of the Gaste river from the city of Sévinne to its mouth in the Arcedian Sea in the state of Dordanie. Lower Gaste has played an important historical role as the location of several capitals of the Sabāmani Civilisation and then one of the centre of the Savamese realms. Today it remains one of the most important economic and demographic region of Messenia and concentrate political power in the capital city of the Savamese Empire Quesailles; other major cities in the region are Sévinne, Saint-Julien-sur-Gaste and Jagues-Salins.
